My granddaughter Raylen is 2, (technically 2 years 3 months tomorrow), And she is brilliant. The smartest 2 year old I have ever come in contact with, and my kids are all pretty darn intelligent! She is really seriously, SO smart!
Today was "our day". The girls have their fine arts classes on Monday, so I picked up Raylen at 8 from Steven, and we dropped the girls off around 10:15 for their classes. She and I ran to pick up a few things, and then came home for lunch. I was helping her choose a Disney movie to watch, I suggested Mary Poppins, she said "noooo....." then I said another one, and she said "No", then she reaches to the shelf, looks around and finds a different move, pulls it out and says "How bout Alice in Wonderland?" I sort of just stare at her, kind of shocked she knows the movie so well, and just from the case :)
After lunch she and I went to walmart, I was going to find her a princess dress up dress, so we went through the toy aisle, looking at stuff, and there was a bunch of dress up dresses. Before we got there, we saw baby dolls, and she said "I want a baby" I told her, lets go look at princess dresses... when we are looking at the dresses, I ask her, if she likes the pink one, She said "No thank you".. so I said "Do you want the purple one?" she again said "No thank you" Then I asked about the fairy wings and dress, and she looks at me, says "No thank you, how bout the baby"
Hahaha.. I cracked up laughing.. so serious, so polite, and only TWO years old! I talked to my son later, telling him about our day, and he said "How about..." is her newest thing.. It's just so funny.Oh, before we went to WalMart, I tried to get her down for a nap. I always lay her in my bed, give her her binky, blanket, and stuffed tiger to nap with, then I cover up and grab my teddy bear, (Yes I have a bear, I sleep with, lol.. I just love him, he's a build a bear named Kodiak) Anyhow, she had 2 pacifiers, one in her mouth, and one in her hand. As I am laying down I say, "Ok - got your blankie, got your binky, and got your tiger" And I then said "MeMaw has her blanket too, and her bear" and I snuggle up by her, and she reaches down and grabs the "spare" binky and sticks it in my mouth, I am laughing my head off at this. I sort of drop it out of my mouth onto the bead (I mean seriously, Grandma does NOT need a binky!) But I have my eyes closed - as this is how I get her to try to go to sleep, she picks up the pacifier I dropped and SHOVES it back into my mouth, I start laughing so hard - then she giggles, and we just are not going to get much of a nap i see. :) She did fall asleep later - after our jaunt to WalMart.
This sleeping angel photo is from a few weeks ago, but she is absolutely adorable, awake, or asleep :)
