Rebecca has been wanting a guitar for a while, She had wanted one at Christmas, but it wasn't in our budget.
Her 13th birthday is Saturday - and today, she got her guitar. A Mitchell Acoustic guitar, came in a pack with a gig bag, tuner, and accessories. We got it at Guitar Center here in town.
- It is very pretty, all wood, full sized guitar, where we HAD been thinking of getting her a 3/4 size, just so she could fit it better, but she seems so happy with this one.
I had to run to the store for cat food tonight, and when I came home, her brother had gotten in from work. They were sitting in the living room, and he was admiring her new guitar - then he went and got his electric guitar, amp and all, and proceeded to teach her to play "Iron Man"..
she learned the first couple parts of it before she went on to bed. It was so NICE seeing them together with their guitars, and it really warms my heart, to see her brother take such an interest in her.
Well, now she has her guitar - she already plays flute, and has self taught herself piano. She and her sister both want a set of drums, and Rebecca also wants an electric keyboard, She found one she absolutely loves at the Guitar Center, but it's a little out of budget also!
But my girl is on her way - it's not a fancy guitar, but its a full sized, solid wood, and sounds great. And she is happy, that's the most important thing of all.
