One of the homeschool groups we belong to had a pine car derby tonight! The girls have been looking forward to this for weeks, and they made some very pretty cars :)
Rebecca's was watermelon pink with green vines and yellow flowers, Jessica's was purple, Whit green, pink and purple flowers on it.
Neither of them won the overall competition- but their cars did well Rebecca consistently came in second, behind the same boy, And he won their group heat. Jessica had an up and down heat, came in 3rd, then 2nd several times, then the last 2 times she won, so she won her group heat. In the overall competition, Rebecca was not participating in since she didn't win her group. But Jessica did participate, and came in 3rd place overall. Not too bad for a purple flower power car :)
We had a nice potluck dinner before the races, lots of visiting, and kids running around all over.

Daryl ended up chasing after Raylen most of the time - It was hard having her there, but I was glad "PaPaw" didn't mind chasing after her - after our long Zoo day, MaMaw was quite worn out!
