Life is full of milestones..
With our children, we have their birth,

Becca and Daddy |
then all the "firsts" - first tooth, learning to walk, riding bikes, boyfriends, heartbreak, drivers license, high school graduation.. and now moving off to University.
 |
First road trip with her learners permit.. |
Becca has been in college a year already, but at community college, and living at home. (she was still just 17)

But Becca is attending Texas Tech University now. She is studying for a Bachelor of Science in BioChemistry - and planning on going on to Medical School after this.

In Knapp Hall, her new home at TTU |
We got her all moved into her dorm room on Sunday. She has already made new friends, and seems to be settling in well. Classes start up next week, then she will be so busy with studying, and friends, I know she won't have much free time..
 |
settled into her first home away from home |
But for now she does.. and I love that she has spent some of it texting me, or calling to chat. It has been hard letting her go so far away. She's still so young. Barely 18, but she's smart, level headed, and very self sufficient. Such a change from the totally mommy attached toddler she was. Life will be different around here with her gone. We won't see her till Christmas break, (unless something happens and she can come home at Thanksgiving)
Her room will be here for her, for her winter/spring breaks, and summer vacation. But she now "lives" in Lubbock.
I pray she finds friendships that last a lifetime, to make this college experience one she will always remember.
And hope she always remembers the ones here at home, who love her, care about her, and want the best for her.
