A Very Happy Mother's Day

Today was such a wonderful day...
First of all, my almost 13 year old daughter plays bells with the Dorothy Shaw Bell Choir http://www.dorothyshawbellchoir.org/ Today was their Spring Concert. Rebecca just joined the choir in January. She is considered a "prep", but after they tested her, and found she was talented enough, she and 2 other girls were moved up to the Junior Choir.

(Rebecca is the blonde n the center, singing and ringing - the song at that time was "Today")

The Jr Choir gets training to take over for the Senior Choir, The Seniors get to travel all over, nationally, and internationally. So Rebecca is looking forward to the day she moves to the Senior choir.. The way she takes to things, I would imagine within a year or 18 months, she will probably move on up to Seniors. (Senior choir has only 30 members, they can play with the choir until they are 22, or decide to leave - many leave to go off to college out of the area, this spring they lost 6 ringers, and 6 of the Jrs have been trained to take their spots in the fall - so the way things happen, it's very reasonable to think Rebecca will be a senior ringer before she is 15. )

Anyhow, Daryl's mom joined us for the concert, and Michael also attended with us. Steven and Brooke had other things going on, so they weren't there, but the concert was AMAZING!!! I got chills when they were singing along with one of their songs, it was just so awesome.

After the concert, there was a reception downstairs, we only stayed a little while, then we went out with my mother in law to Cracker Barrel to eat Mother's day dinner. I had some great highly fattening chicken fried chicken, mashed potatos, carrots, and green beans... yummy stuff!!

When we got back to the house, Steven was here waiting on us, (Brooke and the baby had a birthday party they were going to) He had brought me a bottle of Tequila and a really beautiful Decanter - will look so pretty in my China hutch next to my stemware - for the Margarita nights we have occasionally here, (Sometimes friday nights, sometimes just once a month, lol, It's our one time we ever drink - and it took me till I was over 4o to even discover I liked Margaritas!) He also brought me a 24 pack of Dr pepper :) and a beautiful plant with lavender blooms and a pretty purple pot, (The plant was from my granddaughter Raylen ) and then Steven tells me check my email -- he had bought me a "pro" membership to Flikr.com ; so now I can upload TONS of photos of my kids, and the baby!!! Such great mother's day gifts!

We all went out front and the two middle kids, (Michael 21, Rebecca 12) played on the tree, climbing up, having fun. Jessie played around on the tire swing, Steven stood around chatting with us, I got lots of photos of the boys and their dad, all the kids, Me and my boys, me and all the kids, just lots of all the kiddos too. And they are all uploading to Flikr as I type this (now I have UNLIMITED storage there :) Thanks to my lovely son!)
